36 weeks

Doc says it could be any day now! Oy!  I moved my Wednesday appt up to yesterday morning after cramping and contracting at work all night Sunday night.  I'm 2cm dilated and 40% effaced and baby is just about in position.  I'm really hoping he waits until 37 weeks (or atleast have a May birthday, lol) but we shall see...

It's been a rough week!

First I guess I should update from my last appt since I totally forgot last week ;)
Everything looks good except my blood pressure is starting to creep up there.  This is pretty 'normal' for me at this point in the pregnancy, but still not a good thing.  So doc started me on Toprol XL to help lower my BP thus keeping the placenta in good shape.  Oh yea, and my total weight gain at this point is down to a whole 2 pounds! =)  Doc is happy with that so I guess I should be too!
So, Tuesday (4/6) I was driving to work and got in an accident (I rear-ended a couple of teenagers who'd pulled out in front of me, grrr).  Evidently either the stress or my belly hitting the sterring wheel (or maybe the combo of the 2) were enough to send me into pre-term labor...le sigh!  I was taken by ambulance to Reid (another grrr) and straight up to Labor and Delivery where I was hooked up to contraction and fetal heart rate monitors.  Baby looked great but I was contracting regularly so a couple hours later I was given a shot of Terbutaline which sped up my heartrate and just generally made me feel strange. (well stranger than usual I guess...lol)  I was finally released after midnight and Collin, Bruce and I were SO happy to get out of there and get home!  I didn't want to see a hospital for a very long time, little did I know what was to come.
The next day, Wednesday (4/7), I changed Collin's diaper and picked him up to take him to the couch so we could get his shoes on and pick Bailey up  from school.  I'd no more than turned around and tripped over some of his toys on the floor and we fell!  Thankfully, Collin landed on the floor and was just scared, not hurt.  I, on the other hand, crashed hard into the handle of his ride-on truck, hitting my lower ribs on the left side.Wow, the pain was killer and knocked the wind out of me!  Anyway, I called doc after getting Bailey home and she wanted me to go in to the hospital (Winchester this time, whew) and have a non-stress test.  Baby looked great again and contractions were happening but not strong or regular so I got to go home =)  My BP was whacked out so now I have to take double the dose of the Toprol XL...another le sigh.
So here I am sore as hell with some cracked ribs and hugely pregnant, not fun.  Can anyone say "CLUMSY"????  lol  I'm under strict orders to stop tripping over things and getting into wrecks! ; )

29 week Ultrasound pics!

Wonderful Ultrasound!

All went well last week with the ultrasound and doctor's appointment!  Baby is measuring exactly where he should be and HE is still a HE!  lol  The tech switched it to 3D for a few minutes and, for the most part, it was pretty much the same until we saw his little lips moving!  That was so cool! =)  At the appt I found out I passed the glucose tolerance test and I've only gained 5 pounds so far! Yayy!!  I'm still working full-time which is trying and leaves me pretty much useless on my days off, but we need my paychecks for as long as we can get them!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and let you all in on the names we're considering...I know this is dangerous...lol.  It's between (my favorite) Broderek (we'd call him Brody) and spelled this way to honor my nephew Derek who we lost 10 years ago =(   -   Sullivan (we'd call him Sully), Beckett, Finnigan (Finn) and Joel (Sullivan, Finnigan and Beckett are the only ones Bruce likes)  So, fire away, watcha think?  Oh yea, please everyone click on the link in the email to come directly to my blog and click "become a follower"!  I have zero followers!! Thanks!

28 weeks

I really should've updated this blog last week after my doctor's appointment but - wow - does life have a way of creating chaos! Anyway, everything was fine other than my uterus is measuring 7 weeks bigger than expected.  I'm scheduled for another ultrasound on March 9th to check fetal growth, level of amniotic fluid, etc.  We have an appointment a few hours later with doc to get those results. (should be fun trying to find something to do for that long in Winchester, lol)  I've been having contractions the last couple weeks that seem to be getting worse, the doctor seems to think this is due to the size of baby/uterus...we're praying he stays put for a while yet!  He still doesn't have a name, sigh...though I think we're leaning my way, lol - hope you're reading this Bruce! =)  I'll update again next week after my appointment and hopefully have good news!

6 months!

As of my doctors appointment this past Tuesday, baby is measuring 3 weeks bigger than he should be.  This probably isn't a big deal but she still wants to monitor his growth and we may get another ultrasound if necessary.  He's moving around and kicking mommy almost constantly these days ; )
He also still has no name =(  Maybe one day soon...we shall see!

20 weeks pregnant and 20 more to go!

There's not a whole lot to update right now; baby is growing well and moving more...always good things! =)  Bruce and I are finding it rather difficult to agree on names; we'll be lucky if he has a name before his first birthday! ; )  Feel free to respond to this post with any name suggestions!
